Africa’s First International Pet Products Fair to Take Place in Egypt in 2025

The African continent is preparing to host its first international pet products fair. PETZOO Africa is scheduled to be held in Cairo from 21 to 23 November 2025, bringing together representatives from across the global pet industry.

According to information shared by the organisers, the event will take place at a time when the global pet products market is valued at approximately US$285 billion, making it one of the larger segments within the global retail sector. Companies and professionals from various regions, particularly from Italy, Spain and Türkiye — countries noted as having significant influence in the global market — are expected to be present.

The fair is positioned as a gathering point for manufacturers, distributors, and other sector stakeholders within the MENA (Middle East–North Africa) region. Organisers state that the event aims to facilitate dialogue between global and regional players while offering a platform to observe current trends and developments across the industry.

The decision to host the event in Egypt comes amid rising pet ownership across the African continent. Demand for pet food, accessories, and related products has grown in recent years, reflecting broader changes in consumer behaviour in several African markets.

Egypt, with a population of roughly 125 million and described as the continent’s largest economy, is considered a central commercial hub for the region. In addition, the Egyptian currency has appreciated by around 14 percent over the past five months, a development that organisers say contributes to a more stable environment for international trade.

Across the three-day event, PETZOO Africa is expected to bring together a wide spectrum of participants, including companies involved in pet food, accessories, veterinary products and other related categories. The fair will also draw interest from regional distributors and retailers seeking to connect with international suppliers.

The 2025 edition marks the first time an international-scale pet products exhibition will take place on the African continent, reflecting the sector’s expanding footprint and the increasing economic relevance of pet ownership in the region.
