Blue Buffalo has launched two limited-edition dog treat ranges designed around the US football season: Game Day Nudges and Health Bars Touchdown Treats.
The products aim to give pet owners an option to include dogs in tailgates, watch parties and other game-day activities, according to the company.
The Game Day Nudges range comes in Steak Grillers, Chicken Jerky Cut and Chicken Pot Pie flavours. The treats feature football-themed packaging and are made with real meat without artificial preservatives. They are currently available in participating retailers across the US, both in stores and online.
The second product, Health Bars Touchdown Treats, takes a more direct football theme. The treats are shaped like footballs and come in a Bacon, Egg & Cheese flavour. Blue Buffalo said the products are oven-baked, made with real US bacon, and enhanced with vitamins and minerals. The product will be available nationwide from 2 November.
“Game day is a whole-family occasion, and for many households, that includes their dog,” said Ashley Soukup, Business Unit Director for Cat Feeding and Dog Treating at General Mills. Soukup added that they created Game Day Nudges and Health Bars Touchdown Treats to give pet parents an easy way to include their furry family members in game day rituals, allowing them to cheer on the home team with the high-quality and flavorful snacks they deserve.
Blue Buffalo is part of General Mills, which reported fiscal 2026 net sales of US$18 billion. The company’s portfolio also includes brands such as Cheerios, Nature Valley and Häagen-Dazs.
