Sadat City (Egypt): dsm-firmenich inaugurated their latest animal nutrition & health manufacturing plant on September 12 in Sadat City, Egypt. The 10,000 square meter plant is designed to cater to mid-range and large livestock farms, as well as feed millers, with a focus on supplying high-quality premixes and innovative feed additives.
Located in Sadat City of the Monufia Governorate in Egypt, this is the 50th production facility of dsm-firmenich worldwide. Delivering to customers in the feed and animal protein sectors, they offer logistical advantages both domestically and internationally. The facility is equipped with an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons with modern infrastructure and advanced tech from Bühler Technologies. The plant will process a diverse range of specialized animal nutrition products, including vitamins, minerals, and innovative feed additives and mixes. Adhering to the highest safety standards and international quality applicable to specialty feed ingredients, the facility is fitted with an integrated plant control system with bar coding, ensuring high standards of production efficiency, food safety, and environmental sustainability, according to its operators.
Emphasizing that the facility would create new job opportunities and contribute to the local economy, Mr. Ivo Lansbergen, president of Animal Nutrition & Health at dsm-firmenich, stated that their goal is to enable sustainable animal farming worldwide. He said the opening of dsm-firmenich’s new plant in Sadat City will allow them to meet the rising demand for feed premixes in terms of quantity, quality, and reliability, both in Egypt and export markets. “This plant represents a significant investment in the future of our company and the region. We are committed to driving innovation and maintaining the highest quality standards in everything we do.” Said Mr. Lansbergen. He also said that with this facility, they aim to reduce environmental impact within the value chain and enhance profitability for all their stakeholders. dsm-firmenich is the 2023 merger of former Dutch health and nutrition company DSM and former Swiss flavour and fragrance company Firmenich.This new production unit is aimed cater to customers in Egypt, and other regions of Africa, the Middle East, and Southern Europe.
