Founded in 1985, Extru-Tech has installed numerous extrusion systems worldwide for the production of human food, petfood, aquatic feed and animal feed products. From humble beginnings supplying remanufactured extrusion equipment, the company has grown steadily to become an industry leader, now producing and marketing one of the industry’s most complete lines of extrusion processing systems.
For over 35 years, Extru-Tech has continually introduced innovative processes and technologies that have dramatically expanded market opportunities for its customers. The innovations pioneered by the company have created entire new markets in specialised petfoods, treats and premium high-protein diets.
Commitment to food safety
Assuring safety in the petfood industry is critical at all levels: producers, manufacturers and consumers. Extru-Tech has proactively taken the leading role as the first original equipment manufacturer to build a dedicated Biosafety Level 2 Extrusion Lab and to scientifically validate the extruder ‘kill step’ for salmonella and other pathogens. This facility is available for confidential client formula and process validation as required within their food safety programmes.
Even before new food safety legislation, Extru-Tech was aware of retailer initiatives requiring improved food safety. The company understands that without focusing on the hot topics regarding petfood safety, the industry risks losing business, credibility and customer trust, and being subject to increased governmental oversight.
Comprehensive product line
Extru-Tech offers an exclusive line of single screw cooking extruders with capacity rates from 300lbs to 33,000lbs per hour. The company designs and manufactures Advanced Feature Systems, whose exclusive design enables customers to improve finished product quality while improving efficiency.
Other major components include vertical and horizontal coolers, batch and continuous enrobing systems, multi-colour and multi-shape die systems, pneumatic conveying systems, product densification units, meat inclusion systems, waste recovery systems, dust control equipment and remanufactured extruders.
Global support and services
In 2014, Extru-Tech launched ‘1 Solution Group’ to provide the global food and feed industries with research and development, process design, quality audits and layout and production consultation. This year, the company launched its Virtual Reality experience at Petfood Forum, allowing prospects and clients to journey through the complete petfood extrusion process.
Extru-Tech professionals serve a valued customer base throughout the world, providing unequalled service in system engineering, on-site supervision for equipment installation and personnel training and post-start-up maintenance assistance.
