Fussie Cat, the premium cat nutrition brand of Pets Global Inc, has launched Fussie Cat Essence, a new dry cat food line that contains more than 86 percent of its total protein from animal sources. The company announced the launch on 11 August 2026, positioning the range around high-protein, limited-ingredient nutrition for cats.
The new line includes three complete and balanced recipes: Landfowl, Ocean and Ranch. Each recipe starts with an animal protein source, including chicken, whitefish or lamb, and is formulated without grain. The recipes also contain pumpkin, prebiotic fructooligosaccharides (FOS) and taurine. Naturally occurring glucosamine and chondroitin are included in the formulations, especially in the Landfowl and Ranch recipes, to help support healthy joints, agility and mobility. Another highlight of food line is the naturally occurring omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, especially in the Ocean recipe, included to help support healthy skin and a sleek, shiny coat.
Pets Global said the formulations were developed by Ph.D. board-certified companion animal nutritionists. The company has designed the range around its meat-first approach, which it says reflects cats’ biological requirement for animal-based nutrients. Fussie Cat’s broader portfolio similarly places real meat or fish at the start of its recipes.
Cats aren’t just picky eaters; they’re active, instinctual animals with high standards for what fuels them,” says Aina Kanahele, Director of Business Development at PetsGlobal. She added that essence was built to tap into that ancestral drive, designed to support the way cats actually move, hunt and play. It’s superior nutrition made to satisfy ‘cats that are fussie by nature’.
The products will enter local retail and online channels across North America in fall 2026. The dry food will be sold in 3lb bags with an MSRP of US$20.99 and 9lb bags priced at US$45.99, giving pet parents the range of options to find the right fit for their cats
The launch expands Fussie Cat’s dry food offering while bringing the Essence formulation under the established Fussie Cat brand, combining its high-animal-protein positioning with the brand’s existing focus on palatability and protein variety.
