The Institute for Feed Education and Research (IFEEDER) has released its latest annual update, showcasing significant progress in promoting sustainability, research, and supply chain resilience across the animal feed and pet food industry.
To address new opportunities and challenges in animal nutrition, IFEEDER has strengthened its collaboration with industry partners and stakeholders over the past 12 months. “Our work reflects a commitment to provide tools and knowledge that help the industry address today’s challenges and prepare for tomorrow’s opportunities,” said Lara Moody, IFEEDER Executive Director.
The Global Feed LCA Institute’s improvements in life cycle assessment data and reports, which assess ingredients used in U.S. pet food and livestock feed with a focus on recycled materials, are important highlights. Additionally, the organisation is investigating supply chain resilience for vitamins and amino acids, updating swine nutrition data to improve environmental effect assessments, and conducting on-farm research on methane mitigation in dairy through feed additives and ingredients.
Through its collaboration with the Equipment Manufacturing Committee of the American Feed Industry Association, which earned $23,476 in scholarship funding for students pursuing careers in feed and grain science, IFEEDER promotes industry education in addition to research. Since its founding in 2009, IFEEDER has been a reliable source for promoting knowledge and confidence in a sustainable supply chain for pet food and animal feed through unbiased research, cooperation, and education.
