JustFoodForDogs, the leading vet-recommended fresh dog food brand, has teamed up with California-based pizza restaurant Pizzana to introduce Pup Pizza, a new fresh pizza designed specifically for dogs. This unique offering is set to launch at Pizzana locations on August 26, aligning with the celebration of National Dog Day.
Pup Pizza is topped with JustFoodForDogs’ Pork Treats, serving as a substitute for traditional pepperoni. “Pizza night is a beloved family ritual, and as we look for new ways to make mealtime more exciting for dogs, we knew we wanted to create a healthy way for pups to join in on the pizza night tradition,” said Natalie Lykins, brand partnerships manager at JustFoodForDogs. She emphasised that Pizzana’s quality ingredient focus complements their own, leading to a nutritious option for dogs.
Pizzana Founder Candace Nelson noted, “We believe great food brings people together, and now we can invite our pets into the experience too.” She explained that Pup Pizza blends Neapolitan tradition with nutritional expertise, allowing the entire family, including furry members, to enjoy pizza night together.
The Pup Pizza’s recipe was developed in close collaboration with JustFoodForDogs’ nutrition experts, ensuring all ingredients are safe for dogs and taste-tested by discerning pups. The 3.5-inch pizza features a dough made from flour and water, a creamy pumpkin and peanut butter sauce, and potato cubes as a cheese alternative, topped off with the single-ingredient Pork Treats.
The partnership was officially announced at an exclusive event in Sherman Oaks on August 23. Starting August 26, Pup Pizza will be available at all Pizzana locations across Southern California and Texas.
