
Ukrainian petfood producer Kormotech has signed a €26.5 million ($28 million) contract with Lithuanian construction firm Panevėžio statybos trestas AB (PST) to build a new wet petfood manufacturing facility in Kėdainiai, Lithuania. The two-story, 16,000-square-meter plant is set to enhance Kormotech’s capacity to meet growing demand for its pet food products in Europe and other global markets.
The facility, located on Pažangos Street, will include production, administrative, and storage areas. Construction is expected to be completed in 13 months, with the plant designed to support the company’s expanding product range for cats and dogs. The new plant is part of Kormotech’s strategy to increase production capabilities and strengthen its position in the competitive pet food sector.
The decision to build in Lithuania is part of Kormotech’s efforts to diversify its manufacturing operations. The facility will feature modern production technologies and sustainability practices, as the company aim to achieve the highest BREEAM In-Use rating for the facility.
The plant is expected to create jobs in the local area and help improve logistics by reducing delivery times and costs for European customers. The Kėdainiai facility represents a significant step in Kormotech’s ongoing global expansion, which has included recent market entries in countries like Malaysia, Finland, Spain, Italy, and South Korea.
By expanding its production capacity, Kormotech aims to better serve its growing customer base and further its reach in international petfood markets. Kormotech has been a significant player in the pet food industry for over 20 years and produces both dry and wet food under various brands.
