Mars, Incorporated has announced the appointment of two new Regional Presidents for its Pet Nutrition division, effective from 1 March, 2025. Deri Watkins has been appointed Regional President of Pet Nutrition Developed Asia Pacific (APAC), while Paolo Rigamonti assumes the role of Regional President for Pet Nutrition Europe.
Watkins, who previously led Pet Nutrition Europe for over five years, will now focus on expanding Mars’ presence in the APAC region. During his tenure in Europe, he navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and supply chain disruptions, while contributing to the company’s sustainability initiatives, such as partnerships to support regenerative agriculture in the European petfood supply chain.
Rigamonti, who led Pet Nutrition UK, Ireland, and Nordics since 2022, will now oversee the European region. He has been a proponent of improving the lives of pet owners, advocating for more pet-friendly housing options through Mars’ Better Cities for Pets program.
Ikdeep Singh, Global President of Mars Pet Nutrition, expressed confidence in Watkins and Rigamonti’s leadership, noting their experience and passion for improving the lives of pets and pet parents. The appointments are part of Mars’ ongoing efforts to lead the pet care industry.
