Mars Releases Sustainability Report

July 31, 2024 – The company saw a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in 2023. Mars has achieved a significant milestone in its sustainability efforts, as detailed in the 2023 Sustainable in a Generation Report. The company reported a record 8% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in 2023, doubling its total GHG reduction to 16% across its full value chain since 2015. This achievement comes alongside a 60% growth in business, reaching over $50 billion in annual sales.

Key Highlights:

Poul Weihrauch, CEO of Mars, highlighted the company’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions while growing the business. “We are delivering on our business strategy to continue growing while reducing our carbon emissions. We still have a long way to go, but we will continue to follow the science and show how a responsible business can both do well and do good.”

Mars recently announced the “Moov’ing Dairy Forward” plan, committing $47 million over three years to reduce the carbon footprint of its dairy supply chain in partnership with major dairy producers.
