The Nutriment Company is set to acquire German petfood businesses Frostfutter Perleberg and eBarf from K&K Petfood.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
In a statement issued yesterday (19 May), The Nutriment Company said the acquisition adds “one of the leading B2C platforms for premium raw feeding” to its portfolio.
The Nutriment Company CEO Anders Kristiansen said: “With the acquisition of Frostfutter Perleberg and eBarf, we are gaining a business with a clear quality positioning and high customer loyalty.
“For over 15 years, they have championed natural, species-appropriate nutrition that meets the highest standards. This mission perfectly aligns with our own commitment to providing healthy, premium petfood that contributes to the long-term health and happiness of dogs and cats.”
Frostfutter Perleberg has operated for more than 15 years, manufacturing petfood at its own production facility. Its product range includes fresh-frozen raw products, wet food, chews and supplements. Sister company eBarf operates as a specialist online retailer.
Julius Adrian said: “The combination of in-house production, regional sourcing and a strong direct customer base makes Frostfutter Perleberg and eBarf an ideal addition to our portfolio.
“Integrating them into our existing structure will allow us to realise operational synergies and enable further growth.”
The Nutriment Company, owned by Nordic private-equity firm Axcel, completed a series of acquisitions last year, including several in Germany. In June, it acquired German private-label petfood company Graf Barf from CDS Hackner. In March, it also acquired BAF Petfood from Fressnapf.
In December 2025, The Nutriment Company entered the Polish petfood market through the acquisition of Zoo Factory, a distributor of premium pet treats and petfood.
