PetFoodeXperts has announced leadership transitions as it integrates assets from its February acquisition of Animal Supply Company (ASC). The changes include a new chief financial officer (CFO), key commercial strategy appointments, and the retirement of CFO Jim Martin.
Jim Martin retired as CFO on 14 March, 2025, after three years with the company. Paul McCarron, formerly the chief operating officer, has been appointed CFO, overseeing accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and procurement. Michael Baker, PFX president & CEO, thanked Martin for his contributions.
Elaine Rei-Lavalley will continue leading accounting and finance during the transition, supported by Joe Meddings, Oleg Nikitin, Carmen Cochran, and Michael Martin. Brian Fredricks, formerly ASC’s director of FP&A, joins PFX in the same role.
Tim Batterson, former ASC CEO, along with John Long and Paul Mugerditchian, will oversee the integration process. Phylicia Proulx, chief of staff, will support leadership and serve as interim director of purchasing operations.
PFX also realigned its commercial strategy, consolidating sales, customer experience, vendor development, and innovation. Joe Carras is appointed senior vice president of neighbourhood pet commercial strategy, and Sarah Daniels is promoted to vice president of NHP sales. Kelly Pye will serve as senior director of customer experience, and Stacey Picher will lead marketing as senior director of engagement & innovation.
Baker stated these leadership changes will help position PFX for long-term growth, strengthen operations, modernise systems, and accelerate expansion in the pet specialty industry.
PFX has been a leading distributor of pet products for over 80 years, serving more than 10,000 retail locations nationwide.
