PPG has launched PPG Nutrishield MAX PPG7590, a white interior coating developed for aluminium draw-redraw (DRD) cans and easy-open ends used for wet petfood. The product is the latest addition to the company’s Nutrishield range of internal coating solutions for food cans.
PPG said the coating is the first polyvinyl chloride non-intent (PVC-NI), single-component interior coating for aluminium DRD cans and easy-open ends in the United States.
The ready-to-use, single-component system removes the need for mixing, changeovers or multiple coating systems, helping coil coaters streamline production and reduce downtime. According to the company, the formulation also lowers production complexity and material waste while maintaining a clean white interior finish for both can bodies and can ends.
PPG added that the high-performance coating is designed to help protect product integrity.
The company will showcase PPG Nutrishield MAX, together with its wider BPA-NI coatings portfolio, at METPACK 2026, taking place from 5–8 May in Essen. PPG will exhibit in Hall 3, stand 3D62.
