Sustainability will take a leading role at Pet Fair Asia 2026 with the launch of EcoPaws Asia, a dedicated initiative designed to highlight and accelerate environmentally responsible practices across the Asian pet industry. The program, which will make its debut at Pet Fair Asia from August 19 to 23, 2026, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, is positioned to highlight sustainability as a key factor in the expansion and innovation of the sector.
China’s commitment to attaining carbon neutrality by 2060 and bolstering green development policies has encouraged industries to adopt cleaner production methods, increase efficiency, and align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) expectations as sustainability increasingly influences global business strategies.This change is spurring innovation in recyclable packaging, biodegradable materials, ethical sourcing, and energy-efficient production in the pet industry.
In light of this, Pet Fair Asia Ltd. and the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) have teamed up to create EcoPaws Asia, a sustainability-focused initiative informed by PSC’s standards and knowledge. The project seeks to provide organisations with chances to demonstrate quantifiable progress while ensuring credibility and consistency in assessing sustainability efforts.
EcoPaws Asia was created as a strategic platform to honour and encourage sustainability leadership while motivating customers to make ethical purchases. The program aims to inform visitors about sustainable product choices and industry breakthroughs by utilising the vast number of pet enthusiasts and industry professionals that attend the event.
At Pet Fair Asia 2026, the initiative will launch a number of integrated events. To enable attendees to discover noteworthy innovations, a select group of exhibitors with high sustainability performance will be designated as “Must-Visit” booths. Eco-friendly items will be on display in a special EcoPaws Asia Showcase Area, while producers and customers looking for sustainable solutions will be connected through focused business matchmaking events. The program will also feature on-site forums to keep sustainability conversations at the forefront of business discourse, as well as an awards ceremony honouring excellent practices.
