Tietjen has introduced the FD 32 Pro hammer mill, designed to meet the increasing demands for throughput and fineness in petfood and fish feed production. The mill is engineered to handle richer recipes with higher fat and protein contents, addressing the evolving needs of extrusion processes.
The FD 32 Pro retains key features of previous Tietjen hammer mills, such as robustness, user-friendliness, and smooth rotor operation. New design improvements include a 100 mm larger rotor diameter for increased beater tip speed and a reduced distance between the beater tip and the screen, preventing clogging in high-fat feed.
The grinding chamber of the FD 32 Pro is extended to 1600 mm and divided by a centre wall for easier screen handling. It features four screens per chamber segment, totalling 4.8 m² of screen area. A special fastening system ensures no oversize particles enter the product.
The hammer mill also offers optional impact plates for finer particle size control, allowing energy savings with coarser screens while maintaining product quality. Additional impact areas between screen segments further enhance performance. The FD 32 Pro is designed for easy maintenance with large sliding doors for quick access to screens and beaters. The beater frame system, used for over 40 years in Tietjen’s large chamber mills, allows for fast beater changes and reduces idle energy consumption.
