US-Based Snif Snax Expands into the UK

Snif Snax’s range of salmon and chicken dog treats

US-based pet-food supplier Snif Snax has acquired the UK manufacturer of its products. Based in Miami, the company predominantly manufactured salmon-made dog treats but also offered chicken-based snacks. The US-based company Snif Snax acquired the operating assets of its Maryport, UK location, which operates under the same name but is separately owned.

Kevin Fick, the CEO of the US company, said that strategically, this also allows us to accelerate our expansion into the UK & European markets, in a LinkedIn post.

Started in 2016, Snif Snax is backed by US private-equity firm Fireflight Capital Partners. Back in 2023, Fireflight Capital had exited an investment in Three Dog Bakery, the manufacturer of dog treats, along with wet and dry petfoods.

Snif-Snax was founded by Jonathan Brown, who brings over 35 years of experience in the salmon industry. His daughter, Hannah, has long been an advocate for animal rights. After spending a summer working at her local Humane Society, Hannah inspired her father to create a product that would merge their dedication to high-quality salmon with their love for animals.
