
The much-awaited event, VICTAM LatAm 2025, opened yesterday at Expo Centre Norte, bringing together the animal feed, pet food, and flour milling industries for three days of conferences. Day one featured a packed program of expert-led sessions and live demonstrations, capped by the much-anticipated Victam Awards 2025 ceremony.
Organised by Victam and Perendale Publishers Ltd., the awards brought together millers, innovators, and industry leaders to celebrate breakthrough achievements in feed formulation and milling. Roger Gilbert, CEO of Perendale, and Sebas van den Ende, General Director of Victam Corporation, welcomed guests and highlighted the importance of recognizing innovation and best practices in a rapidly evolving sector.

The Victam Latam Awards held in the event recognised innovation across three prestigious categories:
Feed Formulation Latin America Innovation Award 2025 – open to all ingredient and additive manufacturers, recognising products that significantly improve digestibility, gut health, mouthfeel, or feed efficiency.
Feed Milling Industry Award – honouring the best feed millers in Latin America based on key performance criteria.

Day One: Insightful Knowledge Sharing
Several experts, including Dr Gustavo Julio (De Heus), Alejandro Espejo (Hydronix), Michel Pereira (Famsun), Dr Sohail Nazari (Andritz), Caue Tomaz Martins (CPM), and Francisco Medeiros (Brazilian Association of Fish Farms), participated in technical sessions at the Feed Milling Maximised conference earlier in the day. The future of fish farming in Brazil, as well as automation and moisture control, were among the topics covered. The program concluded with a panel discussion with prominent figures in the field, providing attendees with useful insights and Q&A session.
The awards emphasized how businesses and inventors are dedicated to improving sustainability, efficiency, and nutrition in the feed and milling industries. Participants may anticipate more talks, networking opportunities, and technology demos as VICTAM LatAm runs through September 18 with the goal of influencing the direction of animal feed industry in Latin America
