October 14, 2024 – At the Brainport Industries Congress on Thursday, October 10, Dinnissen Process Technology from Sevenum was awarded the prestigious William Pijnenburg award 2024. This annual award, presented by Brainport Industries College, recognises companies that demonstrate exceptional dedication to the development of technical craftsmanship in the region. The award was presented by Manon Pijnenburg in honour of her father, William Pijnenburg, who devoted his life to promoting vocational education and technical training.
Commitment to growth and education
According to the jury, Dinnissen Process Technology stood out for its strong commitment to the personal and professional development of both employees and students. The jury report highlighted that Dinnissen trains an impressive number of skilled professionals and goes beyond merely teaching technical skills. Additionally, the companies active contribution to regional educational, particularly at the Techniekcentrum Brainport in Deurne, was also commended.
Other nominees
In addition to Dinnissen, KMWE Precision from Eidenhoven, NTS Helmond from Helmond and VDL VDS Technische Industrie & Gereedschapmakerii from Hapert were also nominated for the William Pijnenburg Award 2024. The nominated companies were selected based on quantitative data, including the number of available and filled apprenticeship positions (BBL), as well as their contributions to promoting technical education in the region. These companies were praised for their active role in encouraging technical education and training future professionals.
Evaluation process
The jury, which consisted of Anke Meuffels (FME and Royal Metal Union), Peter Manders (MBO technical trainers), and Yvonne van Mierlo (director of Ergon), visited the nominated companies for qualitative evaluations. During these visits, they spoke with management, BBL students, and mentors, including Edwin Valk and Marcel Konings from Dinnissen Process Technology. The discussions focused on themes such as personal development, on-the-job training, and the companies’ ambassador roles in promoting technical education.
Recognition for team dedication
Wouter Juijpers, COO of Dinnissen, was thrilled to receive the award: “This award is a confirmation of our ongoing efforts to elevate technical craftsmanship to the next level. Edwin Valk and Marcel Konings do remarkable work as mentors and student supervisors. Their dedication and involvement are vital to the development of our talents.
