Gudog, a platform that connects dog owners with trusted dog sitters and walkers, has acquired German market leader Leinentausch from AlphaPet Ventures, a leading tech-driven platform for premium petfood in Europe.
Gudog’s history spans back to 2013, when its founders recognised the potential of using technology to enabling dog owners to find dog sitters and walkers. Since its founding, it has grown throughout Europe as one of the fastest growing companies in the European pet services market. Its current offerings connect thousands of dog owners each month with boarding, day-care and walking services and owners are given the opportunity to view ratings and reviews from other dog owners.
Gudog co-founder Timothy McElroy says of the acquisition, “We greatly admire what the Leinentausch team has built in Germany. The core values, team culture, and company mission were a great fit for both companies.”

Leinentausch was also founded in 2013 as a platform for connecting dog owners and dog sitters. It was acquired by pets Premium, a subsidiary of AlphaPet Ventures, in 2016, shortly after becoming one of the most popular platforms for dog sitting.
