Loopworm, an Indian insect protein producer, has secured ISO 22000, GMP+, and HACCP certifications for its LoopFactory unit in Bengaluru, India. The facility, which has a production capacity of 6,000 tonnes per year, now meets rigorous safety and quality standards required for insect-derived protein in petfood and animal feed.

The ISO 22000 certification ensures that Loopworm’s products meet strict food safety standards, produced in a controlled environment to prevent contamination. The GMP+ certification confirms the consistency and quality control of its feed products, enabling the company to meet international standards, particularly in Europe. HACCP certification highlights Loopworm’s proactive measures in managing production risks, ensuring that its products remain free from biological, chemical, or physical contamination.

Ankit Alok Bagaria, co-founder of Loopworm, emphasized that these certifications establish the company as a reliable supplier in global markets, especially in regions with stringent regulations like Europe.
