JustFoodForDogs Expands Veterinary Support Diet Line

JustFoodForDogs

JustFoodForDogs has expanded its Veterinary Support Diet portfolio with the launch of a new Digestive Care Low Fat recipe and an updated Metabolic + Weight Control formula. The company announced the changes on 17 August 2026, positioning the diets for dogs requiring nutritional support for gastrointestinal, weight and blood-sugar management.

The new Digestive Care Veterinary Support Diet targets dogs with gastrointestinal disorders, including digestive sensitivities and conditions requiring easily digestible nutrition. The recipe provides complete and balanced nutrition and uses fresh, human-grade ingredients. It features a novel protein, ultra-low fat content and moderate fibre levels. The diet is formulated by board-certified veterinary nutrition specialists and is available exclusively with a veterinarian’s prescription.

JustFoodForDogs has also reformulated its Metabolic + Weight Control diet. The updated recipe uses barley and peas as lower-glycaemic-index carbohydrate sources, while turkey liver replaces beef liver to create a single-protein formula. The company said the recipe also provides a balanced and diverse fibre profile to support gut health during weight loss. It is complete and balanced for long-term feeding and is intended to support dogs requiring nutritional management for weight and blood-sugar control.

“Nutrition plays a critical role in supporting a dog’s health, especially when managing chronic or complex medical conditions,” said Dr. Chris Margrey, board-certified veterinary nutritionist and Director of Veterinary Nutrition at JustFoodForDogs. He added that the company’s Veterinary Support Diets use the same whole-food foundation as its everyday meals, helping dogs enjoy eating therapeutic diets while making it easier for pet parents to stay consistent with the nutrition their veterinarian prescribed.

The Veterinary Support portfolio now includes seven diets covering digestive, metabolic, renal, hepatic and critical-care needs. JustFoodForDogs introduced the Veterinary Support Diet line in 2012 and said it continues to invest in Rx innovation with plans for further product launches in early 2027. Its therapeutic recipes are developed by a veterinary team, tested through independent human-food laboratories and formulated to meet or exceed AAFCO nutritional standards.
