Maev, a human-grade whole-ingredient dog food brand, recently announced the launch of its new dog food recipe. It’s a limited-edition protein titled ‘Nordic Fish.’ The dog food product contains single-source, wild-caught, Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)-certified haddock and cod, and responsibly farmed Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC)-certified salmon.
It is the second limited-protein recipe that Maev has launched in the past year, following its Grass-Fed New Zealand Lamb formula.
The human-grade recipe has been specially crafted by combining whole, hand-cut portions of sustainably sourced fish with fruits and vegetables to provide a well-balanced meal for dogs. The food aims to set a new standard of freshness in the bowl while supporting long-term health and vitality in dogs.
Additionally, the fish-based formula naturally provides Omega-3 fatty acids, which support skin and coat health, while offering a nutrient-rich diet that helps promote mobility and energy in dogs.
Maev’s Nordic Fish-based dog food is minimally processed; it’s sourced from Nordic waters and certified to leading sustainability standards. With dog parents increasingly seeking preventive, nutrition-first care, the Omega-3-rich, fish protein-based recipe is designed to meet this growing demand.
Katie Spies, Founder and CEO of Maev, said fish has been part of the company’s roadmap since the brand’s inception. “When done well, fish is an incredible, sustainable, nutrient-dense protein that dogs love and feel good eating.” She adds that getting it right is not an easy job. “Dog parents are applying the same preventive, nutrition-first thinking to their dogs that they apply to themselves, with equally high standards.”
Spies also adds that the company spent years finding the right sources and partners because what shows up on the outside, on a dog’s coat or energy levels, is directly dependent on and determined by what goes into the bowl. Nordic Fish is the result of that commitment and real, whole ingredients in the bowl, always working from the inside out.
