Morgan Stanley Capital Partners acquires FoodScience

Morgan Stanley Capital Partners (MSCP), the private equity division of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, has acquired FoodScience, a leading provider of pet and human nutritional supplements, from Wind Point Partners. The acquisition will support MSCP’s investment strategy in the pet and animal health sector. FoodScience, based in Williston, Vermont, manufactures supplements through brands like VetriScience®, DaVinci®, and Pet Naturals®. FoodScience has built a reputation over its 50-year history, offering products like supplements for joint health, digestive health, immune support for humans as well as pets.

This acquisition is MSCP’s third investment in the pet health sector, following the exits of Compana Pet Brands and Thrive Pet Healthcare in 2020.

Sharon Rossi will continue to lead FoodScience as CEO, and the company plans to leverage MSCP’s resources to accelerate growth.

“We are excited to partner with MSCP to enhance our growth prospects through both organic initiatives and strategic acquisitions,” said Rossi. MSCP’s James Stewart, Co-Head of Consumer Investing, praised the company’s long-standing mission to improve lives, stating that FoodScience’s innovative approach aligns with MSCP’s goal of expanding its product portfolio and customer base.

Jones Day served as legal counsel, and William Blair acted as the exclusive financial advisor to MSCP in this transaction.
