Nutreco has appointed Petra Volckaert as Chief Digital Officer, effective from 1 June 2026. She will also join the company’s Management Board.

Nutreco operates globally through business divisions including Skretting for aquaculture and Trouw Nutrition for livestock and pets. Within Trouw Nutrition, Selko provides feed additive solutions across the feed-to-food value chain.
Volckaert brings more than 25 years of experience in digital transformation, technology and business innovation leadership roles. Most recently, she served at dsm-firmenich as Senior Vice President Digital Partner Taste, Texture & Health, where she led digital initiatives focused on post-merger integration, ERP harmonisation and digital food factory concepts.
Before joining dsm-firmenich, Volckaert spent 14 years at Bayer in a range of international roles covering digital transformation, information technology and global commercial operations.
In her new position, Volckaert will oversee the next stage of Nutreco’s digital transformation programme, with a focus on strengthening standards, expanding digital capabilities and supporting data-driven operations across the organisation.
Bastiaan van Tilburg, CEO of Nutreco, stated that digital technologies, artificial intelligence and data play an important role in supporting sustainable food production, animal health and business growth.
Volckaert said advances in digital capabilities are helping to improve sustainability and access to data across the industry. “Digital capabilities have advanced significantly in recent years, enabling more sustainable solutions and better, more accessible data across the industry. I’m excited to join Nutreco as the company continues to drive progress, challenge what’s possible, and deliver innovative solutions for customers now and in the future.”
