Premium Petfood Brands has acquired Yarrah, an organic pet food brand, following its recent bankruptcy. The acquisition includes Yarrah’s portfolio, which also contains the Smølke and Rodi brands, further expanding Premium Petfood Brands’ presence in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
The move comes in response to the growing demand for organic and sustainable pet products. “With Yarrah, we can offer consumers and retailers a wider choice of responsible pet food,” said Ronald van Sermondt, Managing Director of Premium Petfood Brands.

Founded in 1992 by Jan Jaap Roelevink, the owner of Premium Petfood Brands, Yarrah was one of the pioneers of organic pet food. Roelevink sold the brand in 2012 to Vendis Capital, and it was later resold to AAC Capital in 2017. With this acquisition, Yarrah is now returning to Roelevink’s control, making it a significant “homecoming” for the brand.
Premium Petfood Brands plans to maintain and strengthen Yarrah’s legacy in organic dog and cat food. The company will focus on integrating the brand into its existing operations to streamline service and production. The addition of Yarrah, Smølke, and Rodi will create a robust portfolio that allows for greater growth and innovation in the competitive pet food market.
