To coincide with this year’s Rabbit Awareness Week and its ‘Feeding Bunnies Better’ theme, Supreme Petfoods has introduced a new digital tool designed to simplify feeding guidance for rabbits and guinea pigs.
Rabbits and guinea pigs remain the UK’s most popular pets after cats and dogs, with almost two million living in households across the country. However, despite growing awareness among owners, current feeding recommendations can often be unclear. Research conducted among UK veterinary professionals found differing opinions on portion measurement, with some recommending food be weighed, while others suggested using volume-based measurements or estimating portions by eye.
To address these issues, Supreme has updated and simplified its feeding guidance through the launch of the Selective Nutrition Guide app, a web-based tool developed in partnership with specialist veterinary expert Molly Varga.
The app includes body condition scoring guidance to help owners assess their pet’s weight and condition, a personalised portion calculator providing exact daily feeding recommendations, a safe food database covering suitable vegetables, leafy greens and fruit treats and a weekly menu planner that can be customised and saved.

Supreme’s feeding recommendations continue to emphasise unlimited access to fresh, dust-free, high-quality hay, measured portions of concentrated feed by weight rather than estimation, and carefully portioned leafy greens to complement a hay-based diet.
