Sustell Partners with Kynetec to Strengthen Feed Sustainability Insights

Sustell, dsm-firmenich’s life cycle assessment platform, has entered a data collaboration partnership with Kynetec, a leading provider of agricultural and animal health data.

“Feed crops account for a large share of animal protein’s environmental footprint, yet the data behind them are often outdated or generic,” notes Dr Rob Fetter, Global Sustainability Lead at Kynetec.

With this partnership, Kynetec’s globally representative, field-level data will allow Sustell users to track environmental performance over time, quantify the benefits of sourcing decisions and regenerative practices in line with international standards.

The result, Dr Fetter notes, “(is) giving farms and companies a clearer, more localised view of their true footprint—and a stronger foundation for improvement.” This opportunity can help feed manufacturers gain actionable insight into their production and sourcing practices.

“This integration gives producers more accurate, regionally specific insights into the true footprint of their feed and farming systems, turning data into actionable improvements that drive measurable progress across the animal protein value chain,” shares Dr David Nickell, Global VP Sustainability and Business Solutions at dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health.

Since 2020, Kynetec has gathered trusted primary activity datasets from farmers covering more than 90 crops across over 50 countries. This includes all major and minor feed crops, forming the basis for measuring environmental footprints across livestock and aquaculture systems. Sustell’s feed raw material data foundation enables accurate and science-based measurement of environmental footprints across the farm-to-fork animal protein value chain.
