United Petfood has announced the acquisition of the Jupiter production facility in Drummondville, Quebec, from Legault Group. The purchase marks a significant milestone for the company, representing its first dry petfood manufacturing site in Canada.
United Petfood has long maintained a strong presence in the global petfood industry through its export operations. Establishing local production in Canada—close to its existing dry production site in the United States—represents a key step in strengthening its position within this important market.

“We are thrilled to integrate Jupiter into the United Petfood family. This acquisition allows us to better serve our customers with locally produced, high-quality pet food,” said Dominiek Dumoulin, President of United Petfood Group.
“The factory is very well invested with the newest pet food production technology and offers possibilities for further expansion. We continue to see interesting opportunities for growth in both the Canadian market and internationally,” added Dries Eeckhout, CEO of United Petfood Group.
Jupiter, a modern facility located in Drummondville, Quebec, began operations in 2023. It develops and produces a range of dry pet food products using high-quality ingredients.
Founded in Belgium, United Petfood is a leading private-label manufacturer of dry and wet petfood, supplying retailers and brands across Europe and internationally. The company operates multiple production sites worldwide and focuses on delivering high-quality, tailored solutions to meet diverse customer requirements.
