Bark Bistro Company, the category disruptor behind Buddy Budder, has announced its launch into 50 The Fresh Market locations nationwide. For Bark Bistro, expanding within the premium grocery sector forms a key part of the brand’s 2026 growth strategy.
Following sustained success across major e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Chewy, and within more than 15,000 independent pet retailers — where the brand has exceeded US$20 million in lifetime sales — Bark Bistro is now entering The Fresh Market. With this latest rollout, the company’s presence extends to 464 Sprouts Farmers Market stores, 50 The Fresh Market locations and 13 Mother’s Market stores, with plans to expand into additional grocery outlets throughout 2026.
“Pet care is increasingly centred on wellness and enrichment as an essential part of the daily routine, and grocery retailers are adjusting their shelves to reflect this,” said Tamara Coleman, Founder and CEO of Bark Bistro Company. “Our entry into The Fresh Market signals that Buddy Budder is helping drive this shift. We have developed a high-quality product that is not simply a novelty treat, but a source of everyday enjoyment and wellbeing that shoppers are now adding to their weekly grocery basket.”
The move comes at a significant time for the sector, with the US petfood market projected to reach US$79.71 billion in 2026, driven largely by growing demand for functional treats and health-focused nutrition. Bark Bistro Company is the pet-wellness brand behind Buddy Budder, the original peanut butter made just for dogs. Founded in 2017, having officially launched in 2019, the company has grown from a home kitchen into a 25,000 sq. ft. vertically-integrated facility, with products in 15,000+ speciality retailers nationwide.
