Ahead of Interzoo 2026, 12–15 May, Nuremberg, Germany, two major educational conferences will set the tone for the global pet care industry. On 11 May, Petfood Forum Europe and the Interzoo Sustainability Conference will take place, offering professionals early access to the trends, technologies and strategies shaping the future of pet care.
Petfood Forum Europe
For a one-day program focused on pet food and treat technology, nutrition, ingredients, processing, safety, and market trends, Petfood Forum Europe will bring together specialists from all points along the pet food supply chain. With ten expert-led sessions offering useful insights to help product development and strategic decision-making, the conference is intended for manufacturers, brand owners, ingredient suppliers, dietitians, and business executives.
“From establishing transparent and comparable life cycle assessments to the environmental performance of rendered and novel ingredients in pet food, and how AI can support each stage of the audit cycle to recent engineering advancements in freeze-drying technology, Petfood Forum Europe conference programming offers insights on every stage of pet food production,” said Debbie Phillips-Donaldson, editor-in-chief of Petfood Industry.
Spotlight on Sustainability
The Interzoo Sustainability Conference, which takes place on the same day, will give CSR and sustainability managers from all around the pet supply industry a global forum to examine current trends, exchange best practices, and talk about strategies for the future. Elliott Harris, a UN ambassador, renowned researchers, and industry leaders will discuss important advancements in sustainability, backed by current research and real-world experiences. The first Sustainability Award, which honours creative ecological, social, and commercial activities in the sector, will also be held at the conference.
“With the new conference and Interzoo Sustainability Award, we are devoting even more attention to sustainability within the framework of the eventful week at Interzoo,” said Dr. Rowena Arzt, Head of Exhibitions at Interzoo organiser WZF GmbH. “By doing so, we aim to inspire and support the pet industry to continue to work on sustainable solutions and business cases.”

Participation in each conference includes coffee breaks, lunch, a joint networking reception, a multi-day ticket to Interzoo and a public transportation pass. The shared evening reception will offer attendees from both conferences the opportunity to connect ahead of the main exhibition.
Interzoo 2026, the world’s leading trade fair for the pet supplies industry, will be held at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, where manufacturers, wholesalers and service providers from 68 countries will showcase innovative products and solutions for pets.
Together, the two conferences provide valuable learning and networking opportunities, giving delegates a head start on the insights and connections that will define the global pet care market in the years ahead.
