Several petfood producers are expanding their operations with new manufacturing facilities and investments aimed at increasing production and meeting growing market demand.
German petfood manufacturer Josera is building a new plant in Paproć, located in western Poland, set to open in 2025. The plant will produce dry petfood and is part of a broader expansion that includes a 5% salary increase for Josera’s Polish workforce, amounting to PLN 3 million (£564,000) in raises for 2025. The plant’s construction, valued at PLN 278 million (£65.5 million), is being handled by local firm PTB Nickel Ltd. The new facility will be located about 125 km from the German border in the Wielkopolska region, where Josera produces a range of petfood, treats, and accessories under brands such as Josera, Josidog, and Josicat. The company’s foreign sales contribute significantly to its revenue.
In northern Turkey, Çorum Halk Et, a Turkish meat producer, has started construction on a wet petfood plant in Çorum, with an investment of TRY 37.4 million (£1.1 million). The facility will produce wet food for cats and dogs under the Hulk Mama (Hulk Pet Food) brand. The plant, covering 1,000 square meters (10,763 square feet), is expected to produce 5 million cans annually. The Turkish government’s Middle Black Sea Development Agency is providing a grant of TRY 16 million (£452,000), which will cover 43% of the project’s cost. The new plant will supply both the Turkish and international markets, and Çorum Halk Et specializes in beef and lamb meat production.
In France, Kapsera, a microfluidics company, has secured €4.2 million (£3.7 million) in funding to support the industrialization of its technology for producing sustainable food for humans and animals. The funding will allow the company to establish industrial units in Bordeaux and expand its research into natural microcapsules, which protect active substances for use in agriculture and animal nutrition. Kapsera specializes in microencapsulation solutions using advanced microfluidic technology, offering innovative approaches to improve agronomic effectiveness.
These expansions reflect the growing demand for petfood and sustainable solutions in animal nutrition, as companies invest in new technologies and increase production capacity to meet market needs.
