Happy Howl raises funding to expand shelf-stable dog food business

US-based petfood company Happy Howl has secured investment from several firms, including Mars Companion Fund, to support its growth in e-commerce, retail, and product development. The funding round also includes Michelson Found Animals, Darco Capital, Visible Ventures, and other private investors.

Happy Howl, which produces gently cooked, shelf-stable dog food, will use the capital to scale its direct-to-consumer operations, expand retail partnerships, and introduce new products. The company is also investing in research and development, with potential plans for functional meal additions and innovations in clean-label dog food.

Founder and CEO Colin Buckley said the funding marks a key milestone and supports the company’s goal of offering human-grade, preservative-free meals in a convenient format. Chief Growth Officer Josh Pierce added that the funding will help the company meet growing demand from its customer base.

The investor group includes firms with experience in pet care, consumer goods, and business growth. Mars Companion Fund brings industry insight, Michelson Found Animals provides expertise in animal welfare, and Darco Capital and Visible Ventures offer support in scaling consumer brands.

Happy Howl currently sells mainly through direct channels but is working to expand its retail presence.
