Meatable expands team with former MOWI and Cargill experts

Cultivated meat technology company, Meatable, is strengthening its ties with the global meat industry through strategic hires.

Eugene Leong and Maiko van der Meer

Maiko van der Meer joined Meatable on 1 March as Director of Commerce, based in the Netherlands. With leadership experience at MOWI, Vion Food Group, 2 Sisters Food Group, and Tyson Foods, he brings deep expertise in meat, fish, poultry, and plant-based sectors. Eugene Leong will join on 5 May as Head of Asia, based in Singapore, to expand Meatable’s footprint in the fast-growing Asian market. Leong has over 25 years of experience in flavours and food ingredients, having worked with McCormick and Cargill.

Further cementing its industry influence, Meatable has been invited to major global events, including Expana Agri-Food Europe, The Economist Sustainability Week, IFFA, and the World Expo in Japan, underscoring its role in shaping the future of sustainable protein.

“Meatable is committed to being a partner to the meat industry,” says CEO Jeff Tripician. “Maiko and Eugene will help us drive collaboration, not competition, by combining cultivated meat technology with industry expertise to create real solutions that benefit businesses and the planet.”
