MPM (Making Petfood Matters) Products has announced the appointment of Samantha Greenwood as President of its North America business. Greenwood moves into the role from her previous position as Global Chief Marketing Officer as the petfood company looks to expand its presence across the US and Canada.
Greenwood took up the US-based leadership position in July after more than four years as MPM’s Global Chief Marketing Officer. In that role, she helped shape the company’s global brand growth and supported its transition to new ownership following Partners Group’s acquisition of MPM from 3i Group in 2025.
“Sam has been instrumental in shaping the growth and success of our brands globally through her role as Chief Marketing Officer,” said MPM Chief Executive Officer Julian Bambridge. “Her deep understanding of our consumers, strong connection to our brands, and proven ability to translate insight into commercial success make her uniquely qualified to lead our US business.”
The US is a key market for MPM. The company began significantly expanding its US operations in 2021, building a team across the country and increasing its presence across retail, e-commerce and specialty channels. Its products are sold through retailers including Chewy, Amazon and PetSmart. The US now generates more than 40 percent of MPM’s revenue.
MPM operates premium cat food brands including Applaws, Reveal and Encore. The company sells its products in more than 50 markets and focuses on cat food made with real meat and fish, limited ingredients and clean-label formulations.
The company said the US pet market provides further growth opportunities. According to figures cited by MPM from the American Pet Products Association, US pet spending reached US$158 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach US$165 billion in 2026. In 2025, 95 million US households owned at least one pet, while 53 percent owned dogs and 39 percent owned cats.
Greenwood said her focus will include continued innovation for changing cat-owner needs, including products supporting healthy ageing and the growing interest among younger pet owners in healthy and sustainable brands.
