New Pingtung Factory Boosts Taiwanese Petfood Market

The new Cat in Love production facility

Cat in Love has opened a new production facility in Pingtung Agricultural Biotechnology Park to increase petfood manufacturing capacity in Pingtung and strengthen the supply of locally produced products.

The factory is focused on meeting growing demand for high-quality petfood in Taiwan, where the dog and cat population is reported at 3.2 million. The company said the site will provide locally manufactured alternatives for pet owners while supporting improved product quality.

Production at the facility uses locally sourced feedstocks and ingredients, including regional marine products, grains, fresh proteins, functional ingredients and agricultural produce. The company said the factory is intended to reduce reliance on imports and strengthen domestic supply chains.

Designed in the shape of a cat, the facility also places emphasis on feline nutrition, reflecting Taiwan’s cat population of 1.74 million.

The plant is equipped with automated systems for mixing, drying, grinding, coating and extrusion. It also uses fully enclosed pneumatic systems and smart control technology to support hygiene, consistency and product standards.

According to the company, the factory also incorporates advanced packaging systems and green energy solutions while managing ingredient sourcing for premium petfood production.
