The Pet Food Institute (PFI), the leading U.S. trade association representing the manufacturers of dog and cat food and treats, has announced the appointment of Elise Fennig as its new president and chief executive officer, effective March 16, 2026. Fennig succeeds Dana Brooks, who has served as PFI’s president and CEO since 2018.

Fennig brings extensive leadership experience from across the food and consumer products sector, including strategic and operational roles with the National Confectioners Association, the Consumer Brands Association (formerly the Grocery Manufacturers Association), the American Frozen Food Institute, and The Kraft Heinz Company. Her background in advancing member-driven strategies and guiding organizations through growth phases positions her to lead PFI at a time of dynamic change in the pet food industry.
