Symrise posts 4.2% organic sales growth in Q1 2025

German ingredient supplier Symrise AG reported 4.2% organic sales growth in the first quarter of 2025, reaching €1.3 billion, driven by demand in its food and beverage segments and steady gains in petfood.

The company reaffirmed its full-year outlook, targeting 5% to 7% organic growth, an EBITDA margin around 21%, and business free cash flow of approximately 14%.

Sales in the Taste, Nutrition & Health segment, which includes petfood, rose by 5.9% to €799 million. Within that, petfood posted moderate growth, with palatability products offsetting weaker results in pet nutrition. Symrise noted that capacity expansions in key markets are expected to support future sales.

CEO Dr. Jean-Yves Parisot said the group delivered profitable growth despite macroeconomic challenges, crediting its diverse product portfolio and international presence. He expressed continued confidence in meeting both short- and long-term performance goals.

The company cited strong demand for beverage ingredients and solid sales in the EAME and Asia/Pacific regions. It also continues to pursue its “ONE Symrise” strategy, including a review of its chemical production operations and potential options for its terpene business.

Symrise maintained its long-term target of 5% to 7% annual growth through 2028, along with an EBITDA margin between 21% and 23%.
