
Virbac has announced the acquisition of Mopsan, a Turkish distributor of companion animal products. The acquisition is aimed at strengthening Virbac’s presence in the Turkish pet health market.
Mopsan, founded in 1993 and based in Istanbul, has worked closely with veterinarians for over 30 years to distribute pet products. The company operates distribution networks in Ankara, İzmir, and Antalya, and has been responsible for sales and marketing activities for Virbac. Mopsan employs 47 people.
Following the acquisition, Alican İngeç, the former owner and managing director of Mopsan, has been appointed managing director of all Virbac operations in Turkey. Virbac stated that the acquisition will help the company better address the needs of the animal health industry in the region.
