Beckhoff UK is expected to influence the direction of packaging manufacturing at PPMA 2025, which will be held at the NEC in Birmingham from September 23 to 25, 2025. Beckhoff is located on booth F40, where it will demonstrate how control engineers and machine builders can use modern motion systems and cabinet-free automation to design more flexible, future-ready production lines.
The MX-System, a cabinet-free modular automation platform that combines all automation functions into a small, IP67-rated design, will be the focal point of Beckhoff’s show. It replaces conventional control cabinets by mounting directly onto machines, which saves money and time during installation and allows for quicker modifications to the production layout.
Additionally, Beckhoff will introduce its XTS linear transport system and XPlanar planar motor platform, which give producers previously unheard-of versatility in product processing and transportation. Without requiring a major mechanical redesign, these technologies enable simple adaptation to various formats and manufacturing runs.
The business will also showcase TwinCAT PLC+++, their next-generation software environment that combines motion, robotics, data handling, and PLC logic on a single platform, opening the door to more intelligent, networked packaging machines.
“Packaging lines of the future will be more modular, digital, and sustainable,” said Bradley McEwan, business development manager at Beckhoff UK. “The technologies we are presenting at PPMA 2025 give machine builders and production managers the tools to start that transformation now.”
With applications in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, packaging, and other industries, the booth will offer live demonstrations and professional consulting. From CNC machine tools to intelligent building automation, the company’s New Automation Technology philosophy provides universal, open, and scalable control solutions used globally in a variety of applications.
