JustFoodForDogs expands fresh dog food offerings at PetSmart

JustFoodForDogs has expanded its fresh-frozen dog food line to more than 900 PetSmart locations across the United States, increasing retail access to its products through a new nationwide partnership.

The move aligns with rising consumer demand for fresh petfood, a segment that saw a 30% increase in sales last year, according to 2024 data from market research firm Circana. In contrast, the overall dog food category grew by 2.4%. Further growth is projected, with Technavio estimating the US fresh petfood market will expand by $3.2 billion between 2025 and 2029.

The company said the partnership will help more dog owners access meals made with whole ingredients and designed by its in-house veterinary and nutrition team. These recipes do not contain preservatives or artificial fillers.

“Today’s dog parents expect real, science-driven nutrition,” said Carey Tischler, president of JustFoodForDogs. “Our PetSmart partnership makes it easier to prioritise canine health.”

PetSmart executives said the expansion supports their goal to meet customer demand for more nutrition-focused pet products.

Founded in 2010, JustFoodForDogs offers daily meals, shelf-stable products, supplements, and treats. All their products use human-grade ingredients and are formulated to meet canine nutritional standards.
