GNT has secured independent verification of its Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) methodology for its plant-based Exberry® coloring ingredients. The verification confirms that its cradle-to-gate methodology aligns with the requirements of ISO 14067.
TÜV SÜD independently assessed the methodology, which calculates greenhouse gas emissions across the lifecycle of Exberry® colors, including agriculture, production energy use and transportation. GNT said the verified data will help food and beverage brands use measurable carbon information for sustainability reporting and decision-making.
Exberry® colors are made from non-GMO fruits, vegetables and plants. The company also has corporate carbon footprint verification covering its Scope 1–3 emissions under the GHG Protocol.
The company currently holds an EcoVadis Platinum rating, placing it among the top 1 percent of companies in the food manufacturing industry.
GNT’s Senior Sustainability Specialist, Akshat Rawat, said: “We’ve made it our mission to produce plant-based ingredients that drive a healthier future for people and planet. We work closely with our customers on their decarbonization journeys, and our verified PCF data gives them the information they need to maximize product sustainability.”
