Nom Nom, a fresh-frozen petfood brand within Mars Petcare, has introduced Scoopable Meal Clusters, a new dog food format designed to make frozen feeding easier. The product debuted at SuperZoo 2026 in Las Vegas and will be available through participating retailers in the US.
The new format addresses a common challenge with fresh-frozen petfood: the need to thaw food ahead of feeding and manage opened packages in the refrigerator. Scoopable Meal Clusters are designed to remain loose enough to scoop or pour directly from the freezer. The selected portion can then thaw on the counter in about 15 minutes, according to Nom Nom.
The format also gives pet owners greater flexibility in serving. The clusters can be used as a complete meal, treat or topper. After serving, the bag can be resealed and returned to the freezer for subsequent meals.
Nom Nom will initially offer two recipes: Chicken & Sweet Potato and Beef & Potato. Both recipes combine protein with selected carbohydrates and vegetables and meet Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) guidelines for complete and balanced meals for dogs of all life stages.


The company refers to the clusters as ‘Nombles’. Rachel Porges, chief innovation and brand development officer at Nom Nom, said the format provides pet owners with an easier way to serve the brand’s fresh-frozen, veterinarian-developed nutrition. She highlighted the ability to portion the food according to individual feeding needs and thaw it quickly.
For distribution, Nom Nom plans to offer the product in two package sizes. E-commerce customers will receive a six-pound bag designed for shipping and serving, while specialty pet retailers will carry a 3.5-pound upright bag designed for shelf presentation.
The launch reflects continued product development around convenience within the fresh and frozen petfood segment. Nom Nom has modified the physical form of the food to reduce preparation time and provide portioning flexibility. This allows the product to retain frozen storage while addressing handling and thawing requirements associated with conventional frozen meals.
