Omni Pet has strengthened its behavioural support offering with the appointment of canine behaviourist Nico Joiner, who brings almost 20 years of practical and academic experience working with dogs and their owners. His debut coincides with an increase in pet owners’ worries about stress and anxiety in dogs.
Joiner will also oversee Omni’s free behaviour assessment service, offering owners one-on-one advice on anything from separation anxiety and noise sensitivity to travel-related stress and fireworks phobia. His method is renowned for being empathetic, grounded in evidence, and centred on workable solutions that fit into daily routines.
The company reported that sales of their stress and anxiety soft chews have increased by more than 600% in recent months due to a strong increase in demand. Joiner’s inclusion, according to Omni, is meant to provide more comprehensive, non-commercial support that tackles the underlying causes of these problems, even though the product growth indicates a greater understanding of behavioural obstacles.
Regarding the position, Joiner stated that he views the collaboration as a logical progression of his work: “Omni are genuinely committed to supporting our dogs’ overall wellbeing and I feel that’s a complete package now I’m joining the team. Combining evidence-based behaviour support along with practical, easily applicable training tools, I’m confident in being able to make a positive impact to the day-to-day lives of dogs and their champions. The key for me is developing a partnership with an owner and focusing on the wellbeing of both dog and owner to come to a solution together.”
With Joiner on board, Omni Pet hopes to provide a more all-encompassing support system for dogs experiencing anxiety or reactivity, guaranteeing that owners have access to tools and behavioural assistance to promote their pets’ well-being.
