Petco Appoints Jeffrey Naylor

Petco Health & Wellness Company has appointed Jeffrey Naylor, former Chief Financial Officer of The TJX Companies, Inc., to its Board of Directors, effective 1 August 2026. Naylor will also serve as Chair of the company’s Audit Committee, bringing more than two decades of financial and operational leadership experience in the retail sector as Petco continues to execute its long-term growth strategy.

The appointment comes as the company advances its ‘Reach for the Sky’ strategy, aimed at strengthening its financial performance to create long-term value. Petco said Naylor’s expertise in finance, governance and retail operations will support its strategic initiatives and reinforce its economic model.

Naylor currently serves as Chair of the Board and a member of the Audit and Compensation Committees at Synchrony Financial. He also serves as a Director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Wayfair and until recently served as a Director and member of the Audit and Finance Committees at Dollar Tree. Earlier in his career, he held several senior leadership positions at The TJX Companies between 2004 and 2014, including Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. Before joining TJX, he served in chief financial officer and senior executive roles at Big Lots, Inc., Dade Behring, Inc. and The Limited, Inc.

Joel Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of Petco, said Naylor’s experience would strengthen the company’s leadership as it continues its transformation. He added that Naylor’s financial expertise and boardroom experience would help support Petco’s strategy and deliver long-term value for stakeholders.

“I am excited to join Petco’s Board of Directors during such a dynamic period of transformation for the company”, said Naylor.  He described Petco as a leader in pet health and wellness with opportunities to build on its improving retail fundamentals and integrated omnichannel model. He added that he looks forward to working with the leadership team to support sustainable and profitable growth.

Founded more than 60 years ago, Petco operates more than 1500 stores across the United States, Mexico and Chile, offering petfood, supplies, veterinary care and other pet services through its retail network and e-commerce platform. The company also supports animal welfare through Petco Love, which has helped find homes for more than seven million animals through in-store adoption events.
