The Farmer’s Dog to Expand Beyond Pet Nutrition

The Farmer’s Dog, a leader in real, human-grade dog food, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Woof, an award-winning pet care company known for functional enrichment and wellness products. Announced on 6 August 2026, the deal will expand The Farmer’s Dog’s offering beyond dog nutrition to include enrichment and everyday wellness. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.

The acquisition brings together two businesses focused on supporting dogs throughout their lives. The Farmer’s Dog said that nutrition and enrichment are among the few things dogs receive every day, and that their effects accumulate over time.

The acquisition follows the company’s broader expansion beyond its direct-to-consumer roots. In April 2026, The Farmer’s Dog launched its personalised meal plans through Walmart.com, giving the brand access to millions of additional dog-owning households in the US.

Following the acquisition, Woof will operate as an independent division of The Farmer’s Dog. Customers will continue to receive Woof’s existing products while both companies explore new products and services.

The Farmer’s Dog has served more than one billion meals, shaped how Americans think about feeding their dogs, moving the category beyond heavily processed petfood toward freshly cooked, minimally processed nutritional food. The deal therefore represents a strategic move into a broader canine wellness market, combining food, enrichment and future wellness products under one business while retaining Woof as a separate division.

“Our mission has always been to help dog people do their best for their dogs. Nutrition is the foundation of a long, healthy life, but enrichment and play are also essential,” said Jonathan Regev, CEO and co-founder of The Farmer’s Dog. He added that they’ve admired what the Woof team has built, and together they will create even more ways to improve dogs’ lives every single day.

Founded in 2014, The Farmer’s Dog has built its business around freshly cooked, minimally processed, human-grade dog food. Its meal plans are developed with input from Board-Certified Veterinary Nutritionists®, PhD nutritionists and veterinarians, and its meals are formulated to be complete and balanced.

Woof, founded in 2019, developed refillable wellness and enrichment systems for dogs. Its flagship Pupsicle product has become a central part of its portfolio and is used by millions of dogs and their families. The company ranked third overall and first in the Consumer Products category on the 2025 Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.
