In an effort to enhance pet safety and satisfaction, Woof has introduced HonestChew, a new plant-based chew designed for dogs. This durable product promises to be a safer alternative to traditional chews like rawhide and synthetic toys.
HonestChew aims to address a common concern among dog owners: how to meet their pets’ natural chewing instincts without resorting to potentially harmful materials, the company notes. Made from food-grade plant materials, powdered antler bone, and vegetable broth, this chew is both hypoallergenic and free of nylon, plastic, and rawhide. As per the company, it is designed to flake rather than splinter, reducing choking hazards often associated with traditional bone products.
Daniel Haarburger, Founder of Woof, stated, “We created HonestChew to give pet parents a better alternative – one that doesn’t force them to choose between safety, durability, or natural materials.” He noted that many chews on the market are made from synthetic substances, and that a significant number of dog parents unknowingly provide inedible toys to their pets.
After over a year of development, Woof’s team designed HonestChew to prioritise both durability and enjoyment for dogs. It supports dental wellness with nubs and ridges that assist in cleaning teeth and freshening breath.
