Wuffes has appointed Jonny Purcell as chief executive officer, following his tenure as president of the dog supplement company since May 2025. The appointment marks a shift in day-to-day leadership as co-founders Sam Venning and Josh Savinson step back from operations while continuing to advise the company through its board of directors.
Purcell joined Wuffes after previously serving as a strategic adviser to the company for two years. He has more than a decade of experience advising consumer brands and most recently worked as a director at Raymond James. As president, he helped move Wuffes from a direct-to-consumer business toward a national omnichannel company, including its expansion into retail.
Purcell said the company will focus on rethinking its products through science, from formulations to formats, while continuing to build consumer trust. The founders said his promotion represents the next step as Wuffes pursues its goal of becoming a leading brand in dog wellness.
Founded in 2020 by Venning and Savinson, Wuffes focuses on science-backed supplements for dogs, with products targeting longevity, mobility and overall wellbeing. The company has served more than 1.2 million dogs in five years and ranked number 400 on the 2025 Inc 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.
