Kormotech aims for 10% market share in Romania’s petfood industry

Kormotech, a global petfood producer, has announced its goal to capture over 10% of the Romanian petfood market. The company reported a turnover of 9.7 million euros in Romania, with 5,500 tonnes of products sold.

Kormotech’s business strategy, focusing on Central and Eastern Europe, highlights Romania as a key market. CEO Rostislav Vovk emphasised the growth potential in the country, noting its openness to new brands and the company’s commitment to quality. The company is actively promoting all its brands in Romania, including Optimeal, Club 4 Paws, Gav!, Meow!, and My Love. These products are available in major offline and online retailers such as Kaufland and Cityvet Pet & Farm.

In 2024, Kormotech Group reported a turnover of 156.2 million euros, a 9.8 million euro increase from 2023. The company sold 83,000 tonnes of petfood, 44% of which was in the premium segment. Looking forward, Kormotech also aims to become the leading petfood producer in Moldova, where it is currently ranked second. The company plans to strengthen its partnerships with distributors and introduce new products to meet increasing demand in Central and Eastern Europe.

Founded in 2003, Kormotech operates production facilities in Ukraine and the EU and is a top player in the global petfood industry, serving 44 countries with over 650 SKUs.
