Arjan van Waes has been named the new Managing Director of IQI, effective July 1st, 2025, succeeding Mark Oostendorp, who is stepping down from the role.
In his position, Waes will report to Erik Schöttl, Managing Director of OSI Europe Foodworks. He is tasked with steering the IQI team towards growth and enhancing collaboration across the OSI organisation.
A key part of his role will involve transforming IQI from a speciality ingredients distributor into a leading provider and producer of high-quality ingredients for petfood. With an expanding product lineup and a focus on customer needs, IQI aims to strengthen its partnership within the industry.
Waes joined IQI in June 2024 as Global Sales Director, bringing significant industry experience and expertise in commercial strategy. Over the past year, he has collaborated with the IQI team, customers, and suppliers to explore strategic opportunities in the petfood sector. His understanding of market trends and strong industry connections have already made a notable impact.
IQI became part of the OSI Group in late 2023 through a strategic acquisition. During his tenure, Mark Oostendorp successfully expanded the specialty ingredients business. Reflecting on his time at IQI, Oostendorp stated: “It has been a real pleasure and honour to be part of the IQI team.” The organisation extends its gratitude to him for his contributions.
This leadership change signals an exciting new phase for IQI as it aims to provide innovation and quality in the global petfood market, helping customers and suppliers reach more pets, the company notes.
