Oterra has appointed Susanne Arfelt Rajamand as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 12 October 2026. The appointment comes as the company, a producer of natural colors and color solutions for the food, beverage and petfood industries, targets further growth, particularly in the US, where it sees continued opportunities as manufacturers shift from artificial to natural colors.
Rajamand brings more than 20 years of international leadership experience across the food, food service and consumer goods industries. Her previous senior roles include positions at Unilever, McCormick & Company and Fonterra. Most recently, she served as Group CEO of Royal Greenland. She holds an MSc in Business from Copenhagen Business School and an Executive MBA from INSEAD. She also serves as a non-executive board member of Danish Crown and Protix.
Oterra Chairman Arnd Kaldowski said, “On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to welcome Susanne as Oterra’s next CEO.” Rajamand’s commercial experience and record of leading international, growth-focused businesses would support the company’s next phase. He also pointed to the US as a major growth opportunity. Oterra said its US business has recorded double-digit growth this year and that its current sales pipeline positions the company to potentially double its core US business within the next two years.
The appointment follows a period of financial and operational expansion. Oterra reported EU€447.1 million in revenue for 2024/25, up 7.2 percent year-on-year, while EBITDA before special items increased 37.9 percent to EU€69.9 million. The company has also invested in production sites in the US and India.
Susanne Arfelt Rajamand added: “I’m excited and honored to be joining Oterra. Oterra has built a strong position as a global leader in natural food colors, with a talented team, a strong product portfolio and a very exciting growth opportunity ahead, particularly with the ongoing conversion of the US market to natural food colors. I look forward to working closely with the leadership team, the Board of Directors and the wider organization to build on this strong foundation and shape Oterra’s next chapter of growth.”
